Mid Season Update

Thanks to everyone who was able to make it back to the club Saturday evening for our first all grades update for the season. Each of the teams gave a bit of a run down on season results and some of the standout performances so far this season.

1st GRADE P: 5 W:3 L: 2 Bye: 1

The season has been a bit up and down with 3 great wins and 2 losses that the team should have won. The top 6 have been in the runs with Jimbo Martin (229 runs @ 57.25), Phil Tunnicliffe (167 runs @ 41) and Ryan Soars (106 runs @ 53) leading the way. Michael Finan (11wkts @ 15.45) and Phil (9 wkts @ 13) in the wickets.

2ND GRADE P: 4 W: 1 D: 1 L: 2 Bye: 1

2nds haven't had the best start with only 1 win & a draw in Oct. But the team is building, and a couple of performances show that they are not far off stringing together a run of wins.

Top performances from Chris Spies with 74 against Colts (Rd 5) and Jared Spies 6/11 v Palm Beach (Rd 4) & 5/35 v Colts (Rd 5).

3RD GRADE BLUE P: 5 W: 4 D: 1 L:0

Last year's runners up have stared strongly again aiming to go one better in 2017-18. 4 strong wins along with a forfeit has the side sitting nicely in 1st position in the North division. The whole team are playing a role with everyone contributing. 
Top performance in October from Josh Brooks 61* v Queens Rd 5 and Ben Thoms 5/6 v Coomera White Rd 1

3RD GRADE WHITE P: 5 W: 3 D: 1 L: 1

After a first up loss, the 3rd grade colts side has rebounded with 3 convincing wins and a washout to sit second behind Coomera Blue. The team are improving weekly and with continual improvement have a chance to move forward in the competition.

Top performances with the bat from Rob Milde 80 v Helensvale Rd5, Steve Litherland 89 v Southport Rd 4 and Zac Southey 33 v Coomera Blue Rd 1 & 65* v Southport Rd 5 and with the ball - Hayden Wood 5/10 v Helensvale Rd 4

4TH GRADE BLUE P: 4 W: 1 L: 2 D: 1 Bye: 1
A mixed bag to start the year for 4th Grade Blue with a couple of close fought games they could have won added adding to the lone victory for the season. Everyone is chipping in with runs and wickets with Darren Starr 4/0 off 4 overs v Southport Rd 1 and Brett Greenwood 59* v Runaway Bay Rd 5

4 WHITE P: 4 W: 0 D: 1 L: 3 Bye: 1

With a bunch of our up and coming u15 players making their senior debut, 4th Grade White have had a tough start to the year with 3 losses and a draw from the 4 games they have played.

Top performances: Steve Litherland 107 v Palm Beach Gold Rd 4; Harvey Graham 63 runs@ 21 and Michael Pratt 74 runs @ 24.

5TH GRADE: P:5 W:1 L: 3 D:1

Another team experiencing a tough start to the season, 5th grade have been in most games and could very well have had more than the one win had luck been a bit more on their side. Top performances from Gary Foran 115 runs @ 57.50, Matt Turnbull 84 runs @ 21; Niall Farren 50 v Broadbeach Rd 4 & Josh Versluis 82 runs @ 20.50, Wayne Lettice 7 wkts @10.29 and Max McLean 5/18 vs Palm Beach Rd 1.

6TH GRADE: P: 5 W: 2 L:3

A mixed bag for 6th grade with some strong victories and close defeats seeing them mid table. There have been some great performances with Matt Sutton scoring runs at will, Curtis Strong taking 6 wickets at 8 a piece and Simon Paul taking 3/1.

Positive start to the season for most teams. Let’s see if we can build on this start and see the CROCS succeed for the rest of the season.
