Coaches Manual: Introduction
This manual has been put together to assist you, in the day to day running of your Junior Team.
It is the hope of Coomera Hope Island Cricket Club that all coaches will not only promote the new ethos of our club, but will also come on board with the training guidelines set out in this manual.
While the first section contains information that is essential to the smooth running of our club, and can be distributed where required to parents and team members, the second section is provided only to assist in the coaching you have kindly agreed to provide, and we welcome any suggestions and additions.
Together, we will provide the best possible atmosphere for our Junior members to learn and most importantly enjoy, the game of cricket

Coaches manual: Club Concept
Junior Cricket Clubs exist for several reasons;
- The development of future cricketers
- The encouragement of physical exercise
- To promote enjoyment of the game of cricket
- To teach young people the skills of the game and it’s tactical nature
- To create a meeting place where players and their family & friends can get together socially
Coomera Hope Island Cricket Club believes that Junior Cricket should encompass all these reasons, by providing a welcoming, family atmosphere which gives value for money to each and every player, regardless of their reason for joining the club.
All Junior cricketers should be given equal time and opportunity to develop their cricketing skills, so that each and every player can achieve their personal best.
Cricket is a team sport, and while some players may show more potential than others, the desire to develop a ‘team’ and not an individual, is foremost in the clubs concept.
Coomera Hope Island Cricket Club appreciates that you have given your valuable time to assist in the development of our club at Junior level, and aims to support you in this endeavour by providing various training and information days for you and your team, and any back-up you require.
