Female Teams

The Coomera Hope Island Cricket Club are very proud that we have an Under 10s all girls side competing in the current season. This is the first time CHICC has been able to produce an all girls team which has been a long term goal of the club. We are hoping to be able to enrol a further Under 10s all girls team for this season.

Starting with the Under 10s teams, we will to be able to train the girls from beginners to future season hard-ball matches in an all girl team environment but still participating with our other mixed Junior teams. This starting platform will allow the club to develop a strong all girls team participation for future seasons to come with hopefully some dedicated girl’s teams in the hard-ball competition in season 2023/24.

We are extremely blessed to have two wonderful coaches in Michael Zorko and Lauren Haydon. Both are 1.5 Queensland accredited coaches with the added bonus that Lauren is the current Under 13 and Under 15 Gold Coast girl representative teams’ coach. Both coaches are dedicated and have an unwavering commitment to growing girls cricket at the Crocs and look forward to strengthening girls cricket at the club. We are also lucky to have dedicated and enthusiastic parents such as Tony Kriel that, though are not accredited coaches, assist with training and organisation of the teams. Having such a strong coaching platform will only produce stronger outcomes for our all girls’ teams!

Girls who are unable to play for the all girls Under 10 sides this season are still very welcome to be part of the Junior or Senior competition as we encourage participation from all people, especially our female patrons.
