Player Registration Walkthrough
This details the process of registering for the Coomera Hope Island Cricket Club in the 2024/25 season. If you registered last season you will need to do so using the same email address (click here if you do not remember which email address you used to join CHICC or the password). If you are a new player with no PlayHQ account you will need access to an email address that you have used or can use for your PlayHQ account and your Cricket Id (which is different to a MyCricket Id). If you are registering a player (yourself or child), you will need a credit card to pay for the registration fees (which includes a compulsory National Registration Fee which must be paid for insurance purposes). If you are registering for a child, you will need to have or create a PlayHQ account as yourself and then use that account to register your child. Children do not need a Cricket Id.
If you are a parent who is registering a child and yourself as players, please make sure that when you register the child you are in the Junior competition and when registering yourself you are in the Senior competition.
Please note the PlayHQ account can be connected to MyCricket data once a Cricket ID is connected to your PlayHQ account. This connecting of PlayHQ and MyCricket is not done during the registration process outlined here but you can connect things up once you have registered and follow these steps.
You do not use your MyCricket ID to register here. You use your Cricket ID from Cricket Australia which most people do not have if they have not registered through PlayHQ before. You will be able to create one during registration if you do not have one. If you registered last season you should already have a PlayHQ account which you can use to register with the club this season (click here if you have forgotten which one).
Returning players using their previous PlayHQ login will find once they have accessed the PlayHQ registration pages, most of the details will be already filled in from last season. This makes the process of registration much smoother, especially since your Cricket ID has already been connected to your PlayHQ account but please note that there are still a couple of questions in the ‘Participant Details’ part (step 11) that need to be re-confirmed every registration.
Step 1: You need to get to the PlayHQ.com site in the Coomera Hope Island Cricket Club section. You can do this by either
- Going to the chicc.net site, under the ‘Play Cricket’ menu option select the competition you wish to participate in (Senior or Masters), or the age group your participating child will play in (Junior Blasters, Master Blasters or Under 11 to Under 17). Click the sign up link.
- Going directly to the playhq.com site. Either follow this link or go to https://playhq.com and type in ‘Coomera Hope’ in the search box and press ‘Get started’. Click on the ‘Coomera Hope Island Cricket Club’ option and go to the ‘Register’ tab. Select which competition you or your child wish to participate in.
Step 2: You are now at the PlayHQ site. Click on ‘Get started ->’ to continue. As an example the image below shows someone wanting to join the Senior competition.
Step 3: You will be asked to log in with your PlayHQ account email address. If you do not have one yet click on ‘Create an account’. If you already have one jump to step 8.
You will be reminded that you should create an account for yourself even if you are going to register a child to play.
Step 4: You will be asked to fill in your contact details. Make sure the email address you use can be reached by you at the time of filling this out as you will be asked to verify the address. You may wish to note that you can change your email address at a later date once you have created your PlayHQ account. Your mobile phone number will not be verified here. Press ‘Sign up’ once completed.
Step 5: You will be asked to confirm that your name is correct because you will not be able to change it again without contacting PlayHQ support.
Step 6: You will now be sent an email with a verification code. A page will appear that will ask for that verification code.
This code will be a six digit code that will look something like what is below. Once the code is entered please click on ‘Confirm code’.
Step 7: You should now have arrived at the page below with a green indicator saying you have a PlayHQ account.
Step 8: To log into your PlayHQ account place your email and password like below. Press the ‘Log in’ button.
Step 9: You can now either register yourself or another family member/dependant as a player. The image below is registering the owner of the PlayHQ account as a player. Select the option you wish and press ‘Continue’.
Step 10: You can now select which role you would like to have with this registration. If you are registering another family member in a junior competition, you can only select Player. If you are registering yourself you can have the option of being a player (assuming you are within the appropriate age bracket), coach or team manager. The difference between them is that a player can actual play for a team (and therefore will pay the appropriate fees), and the coach or team manager can participate within the competition as their role suggests but cannot play. There are no club fees for coaches/team managers. Once you are happy with your choice press ‘Continue’.
Step 11: You now can fill in the details about the person you are registering for. Please fill in all fields with an asterisk (*) at the end of the question. The questions without an asterisk are optional. It is important to get the date of birth correct here as you cannot change it once you get passed this point without contacting PlayHQ support. Please note Junior Blasters registration you will be asked which group (full or half season) you wish to participate in. Once you have completed the participants’ details press ‘Save and Continue’.
The questions in this section that are often missed that are compulsory which do not allow you to press the ‘Save and Continue’ button until filled in include:
- Do you consent for you being photographed or videoed as per out image consent policy?
- Juniors only: Name of school and year
- Juniors only: Ever wanted to walk the Gabba before a BBL match?
Step 12: If this is a new registration for this player you are now asked to confirm that the date of birth of the participant is correct. Press ‘Continue’ if you wish to keep going.
Step 13: You are now shown the breakdown of the fees you will need to pay to complete registration. If you are registering a junior player you should be given the player registration fee based on the age of the player. If you are registering yourself as a Senior player you may be given options on what competition you would like to participate in. The image below shows a possibility of what appears for someone who is registering as a Senior player.
Once your player registration fee has been selected, the amount of player fees will be shown, like the example below. Please tick the box to agree with all the terms and conditions outlined by the various organisations including the Coomera Hope Island Cricket Club. The specific terms and conditions for the CHICC can be found by pressing the ‘terms and conditions’ link. Press ‘Continue’.
Step 14: You will now be asked about any gear that is associated with the competition the participant is joining. Please select shirt size and press ‘Update Order’ button for products that are either mandatory (and are part of the club fees) or the additional products you wish to purchase (if there are any for that competition such as Junior Blasters). The text ‘Your order has been updates View Order’ will appear every time you press ‘Update Order’ successfully. The image below gives an example if someone chose to play in either the Junior or Senior competitions.
Step 15: You will now be asked to link a CricketId (which is different to a MyCricketId) with your PlayHQ account. This link allows you to access matches, results and statistics of yours and any other family members registered through this PlayHQ account using the MyCricket app. Most people will only use this CricketId for this step and linking their PlayHQ account with their MyCricket ID (which is unfortunately not done during registration), so you will need to remember your CricketId email address for that process. If you already have a CricketId linked to your PlayHQ account, you can jump to step 19 (this should be you if have already registered someone through this PlayHQ account). Press the ‘Link Cricket ID’ button.
Step 16: You will be asked to log into your Cricket ID. If you already have one sign in with the appropriate sign in option or use the email address and password. With the correct login you can jump to step 19. If you have a Cricket ID but have forgotten your password press the ‘Forgot Password’ link, fill in your email address and press the ‘Send password reset email’ button and jump to step 18. If you do not have a Cricket ID, press the ‘Sign up link’ to continue.
Step 17: To create a new Cricket ID, you will get this form. The email address you use here will need to be accessible as you will need to verify it within 30 minutes. Make sure you fill in the mandatory fields that have an asterisk (*). Once completed press ‘Complete Cricket ID’.
Step 18: You now need to verify that the email address you just added (or forgot the password to) for your Cricket ID is yours. You will get a form that looks like below. Fill in the verification code from the email received and press ‘Continue’.
If you did not create a new Cricket ID but forgot your password you will be shown a form similar to what is below. You can edit whatever you need here and then press ‘Continue’.
Step 19: You should now have your PlayHQ account linked with your Cricket ID. The page you are up to should look like the image below. To get to the final step press ‘Continue’.
Step 20: You are now at the payment page. This outlines in amount due and allows you to enter your credit card details. If you have a voucher number you received from the club for a special discount you can enter it here in the Vouchers field found under the payment total. With a valid voucher number your payment amount will change. You are permitted only one voucher per registration. You can also include any FairPlay vouchers by pressing the government vouchers link. Once you have filled in your credit card details, including your billing address, please press ‘Confirm purchase’.
Step 21: A confirmation screen should now appear.
You are done! You should receive a receipt of your purchase via email and a notification of the registration will be sent to our club.
If you do wish to register someone else but they would not be in the same competition as the person you just registered (such as you registered yourself as a Senior player and the next person you wish to register is a Junior player), go to here and select the appropriate competition. Assuming you are still logged in, you will not be asked for your PlayHQ password again and be back at step 9.
One final note
If you have not logged into your MyCricket player account within the past six months, it is strongly suggested that you do so at https://mycricketadmin.cricket.com.au/. If MyCricket thinks you have not visited in the past six months (and therefore not currently verified), it will allow you to send a link to your email address you have stored in your MyCricket account. Pressing that link within the email will verify your MyCricket account and will allow you to connect your Cricket ID with MyCricket when you next log into the MyCricket app (not MyCricket Live Score). If you do not have your MyCricket account verified, you may have problems accessing your records through the MyCricket app and therefore not be able to connect your new PlayHQ account with your historical MyCricket records. For further assistance with connecting your PlayHQ account with your historical cricket data, please visit here.
If you are having issues with your MyCricket account and you have registered with the club, please contact the club or email webmaster@chicc.net for assistance.
